Handling thin steel plate, round bar, and pipe requires a lifting solution that grips securely without surface damage. The MAG-MATE DynamicLift magnet is a rare earth permanent lifting magnet engineered for this type of controlled material handling. By using a rotating on and off handle with an internal mechanism, the magnet engages cleanly and releases without contacting the lifted surface. It is widely used in fabrication shops, machine shops, and metal processing facilities where steel components must be lifted and positioned accurately. Explore additional options within our lifting magnets collection.
Unlike basic ceramic magnets, this lifting magnet uses a high energy rare earth magnetic circuit that improves holding performance on thinner ferrous materials. It can lift round stock horizontally and flat sections vertically, making it suitable for workshop production, maintenance tasks, and equipment installation where precise placement and repeatable lifting are required.

MAG-MATE® DynamicLift Magnet
What materials can the DynamicLift magnet safely lift?
What materials can the DynamicLift magnet safely lift?
The DynamicLift is designed for ferrous materials such as carbon steel plate, sheet steel, round bar, and pipe. It will not lift aluminum, brass, or non magnetic stainless steel. The contact surface should be reasonably clean and flat for proper holding performance.
Why choose a rare earth lifting magnet instead of a standard permanent magnet?
Why choose a rare earth lifting magnet instead of a standard permanent magnet?
A rare earth lifting magnet provides stronger magnetic holding force relative to its size. This allows the DynamicLift to grip thinner steel and smaller contact areas more reliably than ceramic permanent magnets, making it suitable for sheet metal and round stock handling.
Can the magnet lift round bar or pipe?
Can the magnet lift round bar or pipe?
Yes. The DynamicLift is specifically designed to lift round materials horizontally as well as flat materials vertically. The magnetic circuit improves contact on curved surfaces, allowing controlled positioning of bar stock and tubing during handling operations.
Does the magnet require electrical power during lifting?
Does the magnet require electrical power during lifting?
No electrical power is required to hold the load. The manual handle activates or releases the magnetic field mechanically. Once engaged, the magnet maintains its holding force without power or battery supply.
How do I select the correct capacity for my lifting application?
How do I select the correct capacity for my lifting application?
The magnet rating must exceed the weight of the load being lifted. Surface condition, thickness, and contact area all affect holding performance. Thin sheet, painted surfaces, or scale can reduce effective lifting capacity and should be considered during selection.
What maintenance or inspection is required?
What maintenance or inspection is required?
Before each use the contact face should be checked for damage, debris, or rust buildup. The handle and locking mechanism should move freely and the lifting lug should be inspected for wear or deformation. Regular inspection helps ensure consistent holding performance and safe lifting operation.
